Students in the Applied Design course were tasked to create a functional chair using nothing but cardboard and hot glue. It was also necessary for the chair to be aesthetically pleasing and hold a minimum of 100kg. Working in groups, they researched structure, cardboard uses and chair design to come up with their own twist on this classic design problem. Group projects also provide an opportunity to collaborate and use each members’ specific skill sets to create the best possible design outcome. Come on over and see if their designs hold up!
